I admit it, I’m a girly-girl when it comes to make-up and skin care. I love trying out new looks and products. I also love when those products are affordable! Here are ten of my favorite products that are $10 or under.

Sally Hansen 18 Hour Lip Treatment
This is a wonderful feeling, high-shine lip gloss that manages to not be sticky. When I use this product regularly my lips stay soft and supple. While I’ve never actually gotten it to last 18 hours, it does wear very well for a gloss. It comes in a variety of sheer, neutral shades, so everyone can find the perfect color. |

CoverGirl Volume Exact Mascara
I love this mascara! Everyone I’ve recommended this mascara to loves it! It’s fantastic! This is a waterproof, volumizing mascara that also gives great lash definition. I have long lashes, and no matter what mascara I used in the past, it always ended up smudged under my eyes. Not so with this. It stubbornly stays put through water, sweat, moisturizer and even the occasional eye rub. The only caution with this product is that you need to have a good eye make-up remover because this mascara takes its job very seriously. |

Neutrogena Make-Up Remover,
Cleansing Towelettes
These cleansing towelettes are always by my sink. The super soft cloths feel great on your skin and remove make-up gently and effectively, even waterproof mascara. They are alcohol free, dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested and gentle on your skin. |
 |
Almay Liquid Eyeliner
If you like a precision look, then this is the eyeliner for you. It is smudge and water resistant, but easily correctable with a wet cotton swab. It has a felt tip that gives me more control over my lines than a brush tip and makes for a wicked “cat eye” look. It’s also hypoallergenic and safe for contact wearers. |
 |
Burt’s Bees Herbal Blemish Stick
with Tea Tree Leaf Oil
This is a blend of plant extracts and essential oils that reduces the redness and size of a breakout within hours. I was leery when I bought it, but I love Burt’s Bees’ other products so I figured it was worth a try. I was happily shocked when my zit was smaller the next day. It smells strongly of Tea Tree Oil, and you don’t want it in your mouth, but anything that makes my breakouts shorter is worth it. |
 |
Revlon Slant Tip Expert Tweezers
I found these tweezers years ago and have never even thought of buying a different pair. They have a slant tip, so you can use the flat for regular tweezing and the point for precision work. The inside has good grip and does not slip often. If it looks like it needs to be sharpened I just pull an emery board through the ends. I’ve had the same tweezers for years and love them. |
 |
Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula
I had to include Palmer’s Cocoa Butter in this list. Skin loves it. It is rich and smooth, smells wonderful and gets absorbed very quickly. It’s great for dry elbows, knees and heels, and works instantly. It has also been recommended to pregnant women for years for help in preventing stretch marks. |
 |
Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm
This is a wonderful, no color, cooling peppermint lip balm. It feels especially good in the summer, but I use it year-round. It’s all natural and super moisturizing. If you are looking for something with no shine to soothe and repair dry lips, this is the lip balm for you. |
 |
Sally Hansen Maximum
Plumping Lip Treatment
If you like Altoids, you’ll like the taste of this lip plumper. It brings more color to your lips almost instantly, but does not have the “tingle” that a lot of lip plumpers do. I have also noticed that some plumpers dry out my lips, but I have not had that problem with this one. It has some sparkle to it, so even if the initial gloss is gone it still gives your lips a nice sheen. |

Clairol Natural Instincts
Non-Permanent Hail Color
If you are looking for a fun, non-permanent hair color change, this product is great. I have long, dark brown hair, and while I love it, sometimes it gets boring. This way I can make an interesting change to my hair, and I do not have to worry about roots showing or damage. It contains no ammonia, low peroxide and washes out in about two to three months. If you are making a dramatic light to dark change, be prepared for a longer wash out time. The next one I’m going to try is Egyptian Plumb, fantastic for Autumn. |
I used to think that good make-up could only be purchased at department stores. Happily, I have proven myself wrong. There is a world of products out there that are good quality, lots of fun, and reasonably priced. Have fun, experiment and happy hunting!
