For Dante's birthday, one of our close friends gave him a family membership to CuriOdyssey, a kid friendly science and nature museum.
In addition to free admission to CuriOdyssey, the membership also gives us half off admission to sister zoos, museums and planetariums throughout California.
Yesterday, we headed across the bay for our first trip to the Oakland Zoo. Dante's CuriOdyssey membership saved us $18.63. Without the discount we would have spent $37.25. Admittedly, this wonderful zoo is well worth full price admission. I thought we would be in and out in under two hours. We ended up spending the entire afternoon exploring the grounds. The sun bears were especially entertaining!
In a few weeks we will once again take advantage of Dante's membership, this time heading to the Chabot Space and Science Center.
If you and your family enjoy zoos and museums, it may be worth purchasing a family membership to your favorite destination in order to take advantage of their reciprocity programs.
