Yesterday was the first free Wednesday night I have had in awhile. After picking up Dante at Fearless, I headed toward the bookstore to look for something fun to read over the holiday weekend. As I was driving, I passed the Foster City Library. I laughed at my non-savvy self and made a u-turn. Dante and I spent the next 20 minutes among the library book shelves. We picked up three books for him including a Babar title. I wasn't into Babar as a kid and was surprised at how dramatic the books are with baby elephants choking on rattles and falling into rivers. I should have looked at it more closely before checking it out. Lesson learned for next time. For myself, I grabbed George MacDonald Fraser's The Reavers (hopefully as adventurous as Babar) a book that has been on my must read list for a long time.
After our time at the library, we headed to Draeger's for coffee with my Savvy Friend Carla. She is one of those rare friends that you can pick up where you left off, even if you haven't seen each other in months! It was an immensely pleasurable hour-long chat.
After coffee, Dante and I headed to Costco for a quick trip. We were about halfway through the store when I remembered that Paul had to stay late at Fearless to teach a seminar. That extra time allowed me the 15 minutes I have been wanting to spend to scrub the shelves of my refrigerator once we got home. Since teaching last Saturday's Savvy Kitchen class, I have been enjoying giving my own kitchen a little extra TLC.
Half an hour later, Paul walked in the door with pizza in hand. We poured beer into our frozen pint glasses and settled in to watch Monday night's recorded episode of Castle. I love Wednesday nights!
