Back in April I wrote in the entry titled "A Lesson Learned" that procrastination kept me from being able to compete in a Kung Fu tournament that I spent over six months training for.
Since that time, I have made great strides in managing my paperwork and deadlines. I no longer pick up a piece of paper or look at an assignment and put it off to the side thinking that I will deal with it later. I either handle it immediately, or add it to my to-do list with a hard deadline. Consequently, my stress level has greatly reduced as I feel that I am much more in control of my schedule. It's an incredibly good feeling and one I want to keep.
As a follow up to the entry, this past weekend my friend Petek and I competed in the Tiger Claw KungFuMagazine.com Championship. We both happily took first place in our division. For me, it was much more than winning a plaque at a tournament. It was a confirmation that I have successfully defeated my procrastination demon. Now the key is to make sure it stays defeated!
