One of the most impactful ways I save money is to do service based tasks myself. I clean my own house. I mow my own lawn. I wash my own dog. Typically, I wash my own car. However, every once in awhile I like to splurge on a full service car wash.
It's been over a year since I took the Nissan in for a professional wash. Typically, I either wash it in the front yard with a hose, or take it to a self wash place. After three visits to Chowchilla and Fresno over the last four weeks via bug infested 152, my car needed professional help.
Before heading to the car wash I looked online to see if they published coupons. I found a coupon for $9.00 off their super-duper $20 car wash. I now have a clean, bug free car and I saved $9.00!
This weekend I will more than make up for the $11 I spent having my car washed. I plan to give Harlan (our dog) a bath. If I were to have him professionally groomed it would cost about $70. Instead, he is getting hosed down in the backyard.
