The ride was amazing and just what I needed after traveling the previous weekend, followed by a long work week.
After the ride, Dante and I headed to Fresno. The rest of the day was spent with my mom and Chloe as we got our hair cut and shopped for clothes. The big score of the day was a pair of black dress pants to replace my beloved $6 pants that I got from Goodwill. The pants were $35 at New York and Company. I really like the way they look and will get more than my money's worth out of them. They need to be hemmed, but I'm going to try to do it myself. I can sew, it's just time that is usually an issue.
On Sunday, we spent a few hours working the family garden at my mom's place. I love it out there. We planted a cherry tree and a few more tomato plants. My mom's boyfriend Gary and I also went to my favorite nursery while Mom watched Dante during his nap. I purchased a raspberry vine for my place as well as a honeydew plant. We will be landscaping our backyard over Memorial Day Weekend. Going to the nursery got me that much more excited about the new backyard.
Dante and I headed back to the Bay Area later that afternoon. We were home and settled in by 8:00 pm. Dante and I then read books and played quietly as we stayed up waiting for Paul to get home.
The weekend was hectic, but definitely worth it. I am very lucky that I enjoy being with my family so much. It's also pretty cool to have a dad that owns three horses and a mom that has acre garden, miniature donkeys, pygmy goats and sheep.
