I'm looking forward to a clothes shopping trip with my mom this Saturday. I'd like to find something new to wear for next week's FFIT@home launch party. I had planned to wear my little black dress, but if you watched the video that I posted in yesterday's entry, you can see that I am going to have to donate it. It's too big.
I did get my money's worth out of that dress. I bought it back in 2004 and wore it 4 - 6 times a year for both business and social events. I'll be keeping my eye out for a new one as I shop on Saturday. A little black dress is one of those things that you want to have in your closet, just in case you have a last minute event to attend.
A few weeks ago I did an inventory of my wardrobe and listed all of the items that could stand to be replaced. On that list were camis that I was able to replace in last week's Old Navy stop. I also need to purchase a new pair of black slacks to wear with heels. The pair I have now are also too big having purchased them at my favorite Goodwill a few years ago. I got my money's worth out of those $6 pants as I wear them at least once, if not twice a week.
I have a few items on my list that I would like to add to my closet like a pair of khakis to wear in the warmer weather as well as a few pairs of shorts. Going into the trip with a list will help me stay on track and ensure I purchase what I need in order to get the most use out of the new item as well as to go with the clothes I already have.
The other reason my mom and I are going shopping is because she has lost 14 cumulative inches since she volunteered to be one of our FFIT@home test subjects. She looks amazing, but all of her pants keep falling off!
