Their basic camis were on sale for $5 each. I picked up one in black and one in blue to replace the two threadbare ones that I already have. I wear cami's under button up shirts at least twice a week so I am more than getting my money's worth. I was pleasantly surprised at the material the camis are made out of now. For awhile, I've shied away from buying t-shirts at Old Navy because I didn't like the material they used. It looked and felt cheap. It also stained very easy. This material is much nicer, like something you would see at their sister store - Banana Republic.
I also picked up a black zip up hoodie for $15. Winter or summer, my weekend uniform is a tank top and hoodie. I desperately needed to replace the one I had as embarrassingly, it was tattered at the sleeves. Like the camis I was impressed with the quality of the material used.
Finally, I purchased a new pair of yoga pants for $15. I wear yoga pants to teach at Fearless Fitness. That's the beauty of being an owner, you can wear what you want. The problem I have been having lately is that the pants I have are too big now. When we video tape the classes and I have to hook a microphone pack to my pants, my pants fall off. In fact, I started to lose my pants in Monday night's class and we had to edit that part out of the video. Don't worry, we saved it for the blooper reel.
The beauty of the pants from Old Navy is the drawstring waist! Unlike other drawstring waist pants I have seen, this one isn't bulky, so it doesn't look funny. I am going to give them a try tonight. If they work out (no pun intended), I'll go pick up a few more. At $15 each, I am happy to buy more as I was getting desperate and ready to shell out $70 for a pair from Lucy. In fact, I got out of Old Navy last night for $54. That's $16 less than I would have paid for one pair of yoga pants at Lucy - and I walked away with four items that I will wear a few times per week.
So Old Navy is back in my good graces after a brief break up. I am going to send them a copy of this blog entry in my personal campaign to get them to continue using the better quality material in their clothes. While I'm at it, I may ask them to stop using their current advertising campaign with the mannequins. They kind of creep me out.
