James informed me that they are beginning a new segment on their show called the Pocketbook Planner and asked if I would be willing to make a bi-weekly appearance offering tips and advice about living on a budget. I think my answer was, "Are you freakin' kidding me? I'd love to." I can't be sure. I was pretty excited during the conversation.
James is not one to waste time. Yesterday, I found myself in his own kitchen in the Belmont Hills with host Brian Hackney, talking into the camera about a few of my favorite Budget Savvy tips. The segment will air this Thursday.
Because I had met James before, I knew what a really cool, easy going guy he was. I was pleased that Brian Hackney was just as warm and friendly on and off camera. One note: I was glad I wore heels and will have to continue to do so. I am 5'3" and Brian has to be at least 6'2". Despite my heels, I was still looking way up at him.
If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area, please tune in to CBS this Thursday at 7:00 pm. If you don't live in the area, you can watch the entire episode, commercial free, on their website the next day. I will post a link to it on Budget Savvy's website.
I would greatly appreciate any feedback you may have regarding the episode. I'd love to know if you found the tips helpful and if there is anything in particular you would like to see covered. I have submitted 10 additional segment ideas to James for future episodes, but it is more important that we cover topics that are most interesting to you.
