I need a few days off to recover from our weekend in Tahoe! We had a wonderful time, but it was an active weekend.
On Saturday, we decided to meet up at the Old Post Office Cafe in Carnelian Bay. After a delicious breakfast, we headed over to Agate Bay Realty to pick up the keys to our cabin. We have rented from them for the last eight years and they are wonderful.
It took about five or ten minutes for everyone to unload their cars. Before anyone could begin to settle in, Paul, Kevin and Jesse busted out Nerf Guns and started shooting. They also started handing out just shy of a dozen extra Nerf Guns so everyone could join in the fun. A two hour battle ensued with over 100 Nerf darts flying to and from the loft, up the stairs and around corners. At one point, me, Janna, Geoff and Matt had Jesse pinned down in the master bedroom. He made a daring escape by leaping between Janna and I and going head first down the stairs.
The Nerf guns never went away. At any given time, day or night, someone was getting shot or Nerf darts flew through the air as we practiced target shooting. By the end of the weekend, Dante was able to shoot a Nerf gun on his own, although we had to cock it for him. He was very happy and excited to be able to play along with everyone.
We did get out into the snow, although it wasn't the best powder for sledding. Tahoe is really suffering with a lack of snow fall. It felt like it was April, not January. We sledded for a good hour and then celebrated that this year no one was too damaged from the fun.
I promise to post photos of the weekend when I have a chance to download them.
