After getting Harlan nice and wet, Dante and I scrubbed him down, head to toe. Dante laughed throughout the process. I opted to just turn on the shower when it came time to rinse. I got almost as wet as Harlan in the process, but it was worth it.
Harlan was so eager to get out that he hopped out of the tub on his own. Three towels later he was dry, but every wall in the bathroom, plus Dante and me were soaking wet from him shaking the water out of his coat. He is a really big dog.
All told, it took just 10 minutes to bathe and dry him and another five minutes to clean the bathroom when we were finished. If I took him to the groomer, it would take me that long just to load him in the car and drive over there. So, I saved $70, at least 30 minutes of time and shared a very fun adventure with my son. Harlan, wasn't as pleased by the experience, but that's ok. The only problem now is that Dante keeps asking if we can bathe Harlan again.
* I thought about getting a photo of our experience, but no one was there to man the camera. Instead, I included this photo of Dante and Harlan on Christmas Day.
