Create, Live and Thrive on a Budget
Tuesday, 13 January 2009
Back in the fall of 2007 I was looking for a financial planner. My good friend Carla told me that I just had to meet her financial planner, Crystal Dykstra of Edward Jones. I scheduled a meeting for the following week. At the last minute, my babysitter fell through and I ended up having to take Dante with me. When I walked in and introduced myself and Dante (who was 10 months old at the time), I told Crystal that I would have to see how Dante behaves and may have to reschedule the meeting. We started our meeting and within 10 minutes, Dante was quietly sitting on Crystal's lap eating Puffs off her conference table and she and I were fast friends.

Crystal truly cares about her clients and takes the time to get to know them. This gives her the insight she needs to prepare a financial plan that works best for them. As Crystal and I became closer, we talked about our passion for helping people gain control of their finances. She often teaches classes on budgeting and investing at the community college. I have hosted seminars and given speeches to various organizations about budget living.

We realized that together, we had a unique personal finance formula. Crystal's skills involve creating a budget and investing and my skills involve living and thriving within a budget. After six months of planning, we founded the Create, Live and Thrive on a Budget seminar.

The seminar is scheduled for Saturday, January 24th from 11:00 am
