Home Living Room A $150 Savings
A $150 Savings
Tuesday, 23 June 2009
A key tool to being budget savvy is to make the things you own last as long as possible. The other day, I went to start the lawnmower and I ripped the cord right out of it. After debating about whether or not I have been working out too hard, I asked Paul if he could fix it.

I purchased the lawnmower 10 years ago for $70. It has worked like a champ and I really didn't want to replace it if I didn't have to. We headed to Home Depot and purchased a new cord for $2.70.

It took Paul about 15 minutes to replace the cord and it is working beautifully again. As far as I'm concerned, we just saved about $150 by not having to purchase a new lawnmower.

* Paul not only fixed it, but he mowed the lawn too!
