Summer Evening at Home
Written by Melissa Tosetti

I'm digging this "Wednesday Night Time Out" idea.  Last night, before heading to Fearless Fitness to pick up Dante, I stopped by Bella Nails in San Mateo and had my eyebrows waxed.  I have thick brows that get unruly - fast.  This was the first time I had gone to Bella and am so pleased that I did.  They were able to take me on very short notice.  A woman by the name of Kristen did my brows and she was fantastic!  It's amazing how good it feels to have my eyebrows professionally groomed.

After I picked up Dante, we headed home and just hung out.  While he intermittently watched Star Wars Episode 1 for the 1,000th time, we put together a puzzle, watered the front and back yard, played catch, talked about the change of seasons and enjoyed the last of the long summer days.

When Paul got home with our Wednesday night pizza, I enjoyed my two slices with a Newcastle poured into a frosted pint glass.  We watched the previous night's episode of America's Got Talent that we had recorded.  It was nice to be able to immediately watch the results that we were recording while watching the previous episode.  I was very sad to see Alice Tan Ridley go.  Every time she sang I became emotional and choked up.  What a voice!  I have a feeling she will be ok with record labels lining up at her door to sign her.

One of the best parts of my Wednesday Night Time Out is knowing that the long holiday weekend is just two days away!

Living the Savvy Life - Proof
Written by Melissa Tosetti
Wednesday, 01 September 2010

A few weeks ago, Kevin and I received the proof of Living the Savvy Life from our publisher, Morgan James.  Our task was to do a final edit of the book.  I admit to getting a serious case of procrastination when it came to doing the edits.  I was worried about being disappointed in it.  I finally forced myself to read through it and am glad I did.

I am proud of what Kevin and I created.  I think it is a unique "personal finance" book as it looks at your finances from an overall lifestyle perspective.  Instead of just focusing on organizing and managing money, we take into account that money affects every aspect of our lives.  It affects how we dress, where we live, what we eat and how we spend our free time.  It affects our emotions and enhances or detracts from our enjoyment of life.  With this in mind, we wrote a book that helps you to create a strong financial foundation through easy to implement habits and routines. Once that ground work is set, we look at each area of your life including:

  • your home
  • vacations, hobbies, entertaining and dining out
  • clothes and accessories
  • skin care, cosmetics and hair care
  • cooking and kitchen management
  • savvy money management

At first glance, it may not seem that the amount of clothes in your closet has anything to do with your vacations or what you eat for dinner. Actually, it's all related. You have a set amount of money that comes in each month to allocate to the various areas of your life, such as paying bills, buying groceries, shopping for clothes and setting aside money for your next vacation. How you manage each of those areas of your life directly impacts the others.

At this time, it looks like the book will be published the first week of January. I will keep you posted as our launch date nears and our media campaign begins!

Thank you all for your continuous support!
