71058913Don’t you love the sound of the milk steaming at your local coffee shop? And the smell of the espresso as it brews! Something about that process and the way it tastes and feels in my mouth is REQUIRED, it’s my ritual and I have enjoyed it for many years. Every morning, after sleeping until the last possible second of course, I get ready for whatever the day has in store for me. Before I leave the house, I stop, gather my ingredients and make myself a super yummy, warm, frothy Espresso drink. My favorite is the White Mocha!

Recently, a few surgeries and some major down time triggered a roller coaster of weight changes for me. I hit my breaking point one afternoon when I stopped into a convenience store and bought a king size candy bar and an extra large soda. In less than five minutes my 1200-calorie, three-dollar snack was devoured. I was stuffed, and for the life of me I couldn’t remember what it tasted like. Chef Michael Chiarello is Budget Savvy



For over a year, I have wanted to interview Chef Michael Chiarello of FoodTV fame. I knew that he grew up in the rural town of Turlock, CA, which is where my great grandparents owned their dairy farm. I had read that his mother was an immigrant from Italy and I had a feeling that he grew up in a budget savvy environment. When I finally had the opportunity to interview him, my suspicions of his budget savvy nature were confirmed. In fact, I walked away from the interview inspired and excited about my own budget savvy life.
